Help! I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up!

I’ve been bitten.

Yoyos

They’re addictive and they’re everywhere I look.

Yoyos

Even Anne at Bunny Hill is making them.  She’s been bitten too.

Yoyos

Look Anne…I even have a Williams-Sonoma jar full of yoyos, just like yours!

Yoyos

Ok, you have three jars, and I only have one, but don’t you think I should get extra credit since my yoyos are made from your gorgeous Chelsea Manor fabric?  (Which…ahem…{cough}{cough}is the cutest redwork collection around {imho}!)

XOXO,
Anna

  1. oohh, that sounds like a great project to take along on our upcoming trip! I’d love to have a yo-yo quilt someday. Notice I didn’t say “make”, but have. maybe if I started now, I could have one in ten years?

  2. Good Lord Woman – you are so dam clever I can hardly stand it, lol. LOVE LOVE LOVE the yo yo’s on the Oreo’s – and inside the votive cups – what a hoot. They sure do look purty tho in whatever clever way you display. You go yo yo :)

  3. Oh, gosh. Don’t send that bug this way. I’ve got so many “bug bites” right now. If only I could add some more hours to the day. But I must say these “bug bites” are very cute and tempting (especially those Oreyo-yos).

    Take care,
    Cassie

  4. There’s something very cheery about all those yoyo’s! Your jar looks like it’s full of peppermint candies!

  5. Are you kidding me? I have been yo-yo crazy for weeks now…all my MBS projects have yo-yo’s like they jumped on there and I just don’t know how it happened LOL.

  6. Yo-yos are so much fun to make and they just look great the way Anne displayed them. Oh, seeing the oreos in the photo, reminds me to tell you that TIM TAMs are coming back to the US. To a Target near you. You can follow their progress on the Pepperidge Farms website! I am very excited about this one.

  7. Oh they’re so pretty!! I just followed your link and now have to go investigate Clover Yo-yo makers – ‘cos I need a new thing to be obsessed with, right?

    xxx

  8. they look just smashing in that jar.
i wonder if anne will notice if one of her jars disappears?
i’ll just take one home, fill it with my red yoyo’s and then play dumb. don’t tell her. that’s the plan.

  9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, (Did I say love?) Yo-yo’s! They are so much fun! I made some into a garland for our christmas tree/mantle last year from some really cute extra christmas fabric! I still have a few left over and they sure would be fun in an apothocary jar. I really do love that red fabric as well…

  10. Hmmm. Maybe in my new sewing room (when I move upstairs) I can use some yo-yos to decorate with. They look great in the covered jar.

  11. I love all the yo-yo’s! I have made some and added to handbags, hair barrettes for my neice and even a dish towel. A girl can never have too many yo-yo’s! In fact, don’t you think a few yo-yo’s in fun fabric would look great on one of those fabric ribbon necklaces I blogged about yesterday? Just a thought…

  12. You need to go to YYA (Yo-Yo’s Anonymous)! They are very cute and so versatile. Love them in the WS jar!

I’m craving Oreo’s now for some reason …

  13. Cover the world in your yo-yo cuteness. It’ll probably take a few hundred just to cover my butt so you have some work cut out for you.

  14. Yo-yos are an acceptable addiction you know. :)I have bags of them tucked around the house just for working on when the mood strikes. One day I’ll put them together into a something. Maybe.

  15. I have been contemplating which project to take for the many, many, many (did I say many!!) hours on the plane to and from Uganda. I could take some of the BOM embroidery projects I am behind on. I could take my grandmother’s flower garden hexagons that I started last September on our trip to Florida but then I remember the spool of thread rolling down the aisle of the plane and that might not be a good idea. Maybe my little clover yo-yo maker and some fabric squares??????

  16. i need to make some yoyo’s, too. i saw THE sweetest quilt EVER at a quilt shop the other week. my friend fell in love with it…i want to make a little one for her little girl. it involves yoyo’s, chenille AND a ruffle. oh, mylanta, it was CUTE…if only i can do it justice.

  17. They look amazing in the red and white – I have a weakness for yo yo’s too. They look pretty in the glass jar just as a decoration.

  18. Having watched my sweet mother-in-law produce yo-yo’s by the bucketful over the years for some of her quilts all I can say is it makes for a great “sew while you travel” project :) I’m about to make some for a wall-hanging.

  19. YoYo fever, got to YoYo down
YoYo fever, I think it’s going around

    She’s got the YoYo fever
    She likes to YoYo down
    She’s got the YoYo fever
    I think it’s going around

I’ve been infected too. And you and Anne aren’t helping!

  20. Hi Anna,
    ah, another Yo-Yo-addicted ;o). And yes, I totally agree with your love of Chelsea Manor! I wish I had such a cute jar, too…{I can see a hunt for that coming ;o)}
Are you just collecting them or is there already a gorgeous Thimbleanna project in the making?
    Hugs,
    Julia
