Crocheted Easter Banner

Print the Martha Stewart letters out on cardstock. Cut them out with a circle cutting tool of choice. Cut an extra circle the same size and make a little template for the holes that you will punch around the edges of the letters.

Following your template, punch little holes around the edges of the letters. I used a 1/16-inch hole punch which you can purchase a craft or scrapbook store.

Crochet Instructions.

Abbreviations used:
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet

Row 1: Beginning at the bottom of the letter, (sc in hole, ch 2) repeat in each hole until you are back to where you started. When you return to the beginning, sl st into first sc.

Row 2: Ch 1. Single crochet in the back loop of every stitch from the first row. When you return to the beginning, sl st into the first ch of this row.

Row 3: Ch 4. *Skip 1 stitch and sc in the next stitch. Ch 3.* Repeat steps between the asterisks until you return to the beginning of this row. Sl st into 1st chain at the beginning of this row and and finish off. Weave in ends.

Repeat rows 1 through 3 for each letter. To join the letters, I attached a loop of crochet thread to the back of a letter. Then I did 7 slip stitches (14 slip stitches between words) with a double crochet thread. Using another slip stitch, attach the chain to the second letter. Finish off thread and weave in thread tails.

Continue joining all the letters in a similar manner. Slip stitch chains as long as needed on each end of the banner.

Enjoy!
