Hello, Hello! I’m still loafing around on vacation, but I thought I’d pop in and take credit for completing another item on my 10 Things this Summer list. I finally managed to organize some pages about our Iceland trip.
You know, just in case you’re planning a trip to Iceland. Or you don’t have anything better to do and want to get ideas for a future trip. Just click on the travel tab up there in my header and it will take you to a button for the Iceland pages.
TheManoftheHouse has informed me that we have a fabric surprise waiting for us when I get home in a few days. More on that later – I can’t wait! In the meantime, I hope you’re having a great week!
XOXO,
Anna
beautiful! Iceland looks like a place for my travel wish list!
Lovely pictures…I’ll keep a link to the info in my “future file”! It looks like you’re having a productive summer!
Oooh – we do love fabric surprises… Nice to see a post popup on my side bar.
Enjoy your vacation time – it goes way to fast!
I’d love to go to Iceland. And I’m glad you’re still enjoying the vacation. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. And now I can say you are a real friend, not just a social media one. And who else but a true friend would climb through a bathroom window to open my door after the wind blew it shut. Thank you, thank you, for coming to visit and for bringing me a lovely gift. I can’t wait to hear about your fabric surprise and the rest of your Western vacation.
Oh my…. the blues! I can’t get over the colors.
Wow! Fantastic pictures and details. I have gotten to the airport in Iceland but was passing through on a trip to Norway. Since that layover, and living in northeastern US, we really would love to give some time to this beautiful island. You have planted some more inspiration to start some planning. I also have to say I admire that you have created such a wonderful record of the trip. I fall short with good intentions. Thanks so much for sharing.
I took a few minutes to browse through your Iceland travel pages. Wow, am I impressed! Iceland is somewhere I would’ve never thought to visit, but now it’s on my dream list! Awesome photos! And loved reading your travel diary. Thank you Anna!
The man of the house keeps track of the fabric surprises…. Very impressive.
Oh, Anna, this is a place that I have been longing to visit! I am so excited that you have been there and going over to check out more photos!!
way to go Anna! getting that list widdled down, even on vaction, must feel great!
I’ve wanted to go to Iceland for years – maybe one day. Enjoy your loafing!!
Phew… finally I’ve finished reading all your travel blog from your trip to Iceland :)
I had such a great time, always fun to see your own country through the visitors eyes… I hope my comment won’t be too long here:
First of all… I’m so glad you talked about “next time” :)
Second, I love how the food is such a huge part of your experience, I often take a picture of the dishes I get when traveling, food memories are so strong when looking back :)
Third… well here it comes:
Day 1: Picture: “Reykjavik is known for it’s many colored buildings”… on the right there’s my workplace :)
Charlies Angels… LOL, never thought of that before and I’ve been into this building many times! :)
Day 2: The first church picture… this is the church where I got married
The currigated metal houses is typical for old icelandic houses – I love it, wish I lived in one
Let me translate the coke bottles… “Katrínu”, “Brynju”, “Rakel”… those are women’s names and “syni” means “son”
Gosh… so many colorful and beautiful pictures Anna
Day 3: I love Dynjandi Falls
Too bad about the puffins :(
Day 4: Beautiful horse pictures – I love the brightness
Day 5: Amazing glacier scenery – great idea to get a guide :)
Oh no, poor you wandering around and not finding the plane
Hahahaha yyippee a puffin!!! – GREAT puffin photo!
LOL an Icelandic doctor, I laughed outloud :D
Day 6: I love how you describe your family’s first sight of Jökulsárlón :)
Oh, the little lobsters… my all-time-favorite food in the whole world… expensive but worth it, we cook it 1-2 a year and then we open a bottle of white wine and it’s heaven!
Gorgeous photo of your kids standing by the hexagonal basalt columns
Day 7: What was the other family members’ “puffins”?
what an interest day you’ve had, glad this Johann was such a great tour guide
I’m so glad your family made it possible for you to visit Alafoss shop, since I was going to take you there but couldn’t have due to our shortened time together
Love the cat sticker, haven’t noticed it before :)
Oh! Toffypops!! My brother’ favorite since he was a kid, my granny used to buy it for him EVERY time we visited her (which we did at least every week) :D
Day 8: I enjoyed every minute with you, if only we would have had more time together :)
This was a great picture display Anna, thank you so much :)
