Yummy! That looks cool and nutritious and perfect for summer! :)
I make the same recipe – but add some sunflower kernels. Gives it a nice crunch! Hope you have a good trip to NJ!
I make something similar, expect I throw in grated cheddar cheese. Deeeelicious! Love the idea of adding raisins and sunflower seeds.
To make it really super quick and easy, I use a jar of real bacon bits, found near the salad fixin’s in the grocery store, instead of cooking bacon myself. I also use the pre-grated cheese, and a bunch of scallions instead of the purple onion.
It’s one of our favorite side dishes in the summer!

I love that salad. Used to make it all the time. Thanks for reminding me. Have a great trip.
In my book, broccoli = yum! Always.
This is one of my most favorite salads! I made it for Father’s Day and will be making it again for 4th of July! ooxx`jod
Oh my goodness, this is my all time favorite salad chicky poo – what does that make now 160 things in common, lol. Hey I tried to comment on the shirt thing – it was closed up tight. Anyway sweet pea I love the shirt – very cute and not grandma like at all.
Happy 4th you firecracker :) – Mrs. Farmhouse
very yummy salad, have you tried it with craisons instead of raisins?
I have this one on my recipe blog! I also add a cup of sunflower seeds —makes it deliciously crunchy! You can also add sliced mushrooms….and grated carrot, as another commenter said. I could polish this off all by myself!
Hi Anna…long time no hear. Been buzzzzy around here. I thought your blouse was the best. I say wear it proud…and out of the house :)
Your broccoli salad is a lot like mine….and looks delish. I got my recipe from the LL Bean catalog many years ago.
Have a good trip and a Happy 4th!
Love,
Amy
I will have to try this recipe. Have a great trip!
I don’t know what looks better. The broccoli salad or your beautiful pictures of the broccoli salad!
Be safe on your trip!! And the salad looks yummy……….minus………….well you know.
I made a broccoli salad Saturday – similar to yours except you use buttermilk ranch dressing and it also had mango, nectarines and cashews in it. Very yummy!
That sounds and looks great.
I think I´m going to try it.
Even if it is buisness, have fun in NY.
All the best
Janine
Looks yummy!! Have a safe trip…and I’ll leave you with what hubby always said to the kids when they went off to work or school…”Don’t work too hard and keep smiling”.
The salad looks delicious. I make one similar but use red grapes halved instead of the raisins and it has shredded sharp cheddar cheese. I love summer salads.
Hope your trip goes well and safely. :)
Yummy! I’d forgotten about that one…I think I’ll make it this weekend. Have a great 4th!
YUM! Looks very tasty. I will have to give it a try.
Ok, I am a total idiot. I read the “grandma shirt love” thing and I thought, wait?!?!? my stupid quick reading has made me miss something important, when was there was a grandbaby announcement? But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, you really meant the shirt that was like a housedress. And I did read it. Correctly too. LOL
Anna, that looks good. Unfortunately it won’t be prepared here at Casa Muddling. Mr. Muddling thinks all broccoli should be banned from human consumption. :(
YUM!
Sounds great! Hope your trip goes well! Lucy x
One of my very favorite salads!
I know you go there all the time but do you ever get to the Jersey shore or anything fun? I could use a trip to Jersey.
That sounds yummy – we could always use new ways to cook broccoli here! Hope your trip goes well.
Have a safe trip to New Jersey! Brocolli salad looks so green and healthy although I am not sure I could chomp my way through raw broccoli!
yummmm… thanks for the recipe. Broccoli salad is one of my favourites!
Have fun in NJ. Anytime I’m sent somewhere I jump at the chance. I’m always up for a road trip – I don’t really care where they’re sending me haha.
looks so yummy it almost makes me want to eat some of that yucky green stuff!!!! :P
That looks very tasty! Hope you’re having a good trip.
MMMM… good salad recipe.
Hope your trip went well!
Thanks for the recipe! I have never made broccoli salad, but it looks delicious! Hope your trip to NJ is fun and safe! =)
I don’t know about the broccoli but I like your fancy presentation!
I am going to try this for the 4th! Since I REALLY dislike raisins, I am thinking of substituting peanuts. Hopefully it works! ;)
it’s lovely.
i have nothing sarcastic to say about your broccoli salad.
i’m sure i could think of something if it weren’t crack o’ dawn…
hope your trip is going well. i’m sorry that you won’t be downing any magnolia cupcakes from NYC. i’m going to go to the bakery when i grow up. unless of course, i’ve opened my OWN cupcake bakery, just down the street, and mine has put theirs entirely out of business… and i’m sitting in the back office, eating cupcakes from MY bakery instead of theirs, while they wait in line at my bakery, secretly wondering why MY cupcakes taste so much better than theirs…….
Ooh yum this looks good – and yes, loving the last shirt too!
Hope you had a safe trip to NJ!!
Thanks for the recipe ~ I have always wanted this one and now have added it to my list of favorite blog friends’ recipes.
Happy 4th and love your banner!

It looks delicious. I used to order a salad like yours at a local deli, and loved it.
My family loves this broccoli salad, I think I make it for almost every get together/holiday. I remember getting the recipe from Susie C. at one of the Quilt groups (at her old House) funny the stuff you remember,I always think of her when I make it. xoxo I could use a plate of it right now:)
PS Loved the book “the Help” I highly recommend it.
I love broccoli salad and this sounds so good Anna. Have you ever tried that ramen noodle salad that has broccoli slaw and raisins in it? I’ve been craving that lately but this sounds a whole lot better for me. Maybe I’ll have to do both. And egg salad sandwiches. I’ve been craving that too!
Glad to hear the shirt got a wearing. Great recipe, enjoy the trip
Oh, I make a variation of this salad and it is delicious! I always receive great compliments when I make it. Yours looks yummy.
Salad looks wonderful! Hope your trip was a good one.
I love broccoli salad. I do mine with cauli, red pepper, red onion and a lovely, lemony vinaigrette – mmmmmmm!
Hummmmmmmmm sounds yummy maybe I’ll make some to take to our picnic today, have a great fourth Anna!
This is such a yummy salad! Thank you so much for the recipe, Anna.
That’s my husband’s favorite salad ever. It’s so good! You gotta balance out all that healthy broccoli with the bacon. ;0)
