Quilt Market Part 2

Whew!  It’s busy, busy in ThimbleannaLand and I’ve barely had any time for blog reading.  I’m hoping things will get back to normal by the end of the month — and then it will be June.  Yikes!

So, back to Quilt Market.  Look Lookie — it’s the Lakehouse Girls!  It was so fun to see Ms. Pam Kitty and Holly again and we had a nice visit.  Look at all that PKM fabulosity there in the bottom left-hand corner.  I was going to say how much I love the Union Jack pillow, but I love it all!

Here’s cute little Vanessa in her Moda booth.  She was swamped with people every time I passed her.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

And, speaking of swamped, there was no way to get a good, full-on picture of Ms. Ric Rac and her booth.  Everyone loved her adorable creations.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

What’s not to love?  How can you possibly resist a monkey on a tire swing???  (With a rhino photo-bombing the picture!)

The. Dress. was the star of the booth though.  I Looooove that dress.  What a work of art!  Someone said that Jemma told them that the dress is very heavy.  It was so fun to see it in real life.

And while we’re discussing Australians, I had a hard time leaving Jen Kingwell’s booth.  These quilts are fabulous.  I’m feeling a Steam Punk quilt in my future.

I’ve always loved Anna Griffin’s sophisticated designs.  (It’s not her name, pinky swear.  ;-D )  The Eleanor line is just beautiful.

And Anna Griffin has a new designer, Cori Dantini.  This fabric is soooo cute.  You will be seeing it again.  ;-D

There was even a knitting pattern booth at quilt market. Deep South Fibers. Such cute knits.

And a gorgeous smocked dress in the Deep South Fibers booth. With bees!

And here’s my parting gift.  We thought these signs on the sewing chairs were pretty funny.  What does that say about quilters?  Hmmmm???  Maybe we should all post a sign like this on our sewing chairs — just as a reminder to get up and get moving LOL!

So, that’s it for my quilt market pictures. Thanks for sticking with them and reading to the end. Now to get my sewing room cleaned a little so I can start a new project!

XOXO,

Quilt Market Part 1

Ok, let’s get this show on the road.  As I said in the last post, I didn’t get a lot of photos that I wish I had — it was just so busy.  Plus, in the past, I’ve always been helping Kellie, so it was possible to get photos of booths before market opened — without all the people in them.  Some of these photos are at weird angles — that means that someone was in the way, making it hard to get a good straight on shot.

So, off the bat, the Moda booth that you’ve probably seen everywhere by now.  All those leaves were so pretty.

Moda did an interesting thing this year with their designers.  Rather than have them each have full booths, they had mini-spaces next to each other.  Here are Sweetwater and Bunny Hill.  What a relief this must have been for their designers — much less work in a mini-booth.

Riley Blake.  Those chevrons have popularity staying power.

The modkid booth was really cute.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

I love her new fabric — all those letters.  That colored alphabet that is third from the bottom in the quilt reminds me of an old Ikea print that I never managed to find.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

Mo Bedell’s pretty booth.  I think maybe she got an award for her booth?

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

Heather Bailey did a fun thing with the wall of her booth.  This was a giant embroidery done with yarn. She also had real, live sod on the floor of her booth — can you see it?  I would have liked to see that on Sunday afternoon.  Did they water it every day LOL?

This is a quilt in The Quilted Fish booth.  There were a lot of people at the front of this booth, so I had to take pictures of the side walls.  That cute little wall hanging to the left was made by Stephanie.  I was so sad that I didn’t get a bigger picture of it.  I’ll bet she’ll post a better picture soon.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

Another pretty quilt in The Quilted Fish booth.  And I missed the pretty little quilt by Jana — maybe she’ll post it on her blog too.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

This was an adorable booth.  Hudson’s Holidays Designs.  I’d never heard of her, but her stuff sure is cute.

Thimbleanna: Quilt Market Portland

I loved this booth.  Busy Bee Quilt Designs.  Check out the famous Union Jack quilt in black and whites.  And I love that circle quilt on the couch too.  I need a quilt in those colors for our family room.

Ok, that’s enough for now. I saved the best for last — Next time!

Back Home Again

Hello Hello! I’m back from my whirlwind trip to Quilt Market in Portland. I came back last night on the red-eye and got home mid-morning today. It’s been a busy day, so I haven’t had time to go through all my pictures. I do have a few pictures to show you, although it was such a quick and busy trip that I missed a ton of details. I had the same problem with my instagram pictures and I finally gave up on them.   Sorry.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in here and tell you about a fun little visit we had with Heather Ross. She’s Back! and she has a sweet new line called Briar Rose. Look at her cute booth.

Thimbleanna: Heather Ross

Here’s a look at all the prints in her new line. (You can see individual shots of each print  Here).

Thimbleanna: Heather Ross

This is my favorite print. Heather told us all about the little bees. She said she is the mama bee on the left and the bee on the right is her nanny with her little girl. Then, she laughed and said “I don’t even have a nanny!”.  I love bees anyway and knowing the story makes it even cuter.  Check out that stinger on Mama Bee — I forgot to ask Heather what THAT means LOL.

Thimbleanna: Heather Ross

While we were at market, I grabbed several fat quarter bundles of Briar Rose to put in my little shop.  This line isn’t due to ship until July, so you can have these prints early!  There are 20 prints in the bundle and they retail for $70.00.  I’ve put them in the shop on sale for $60.00.  They’ll ship in a flat rate envelope for $5.90 postage in the continental U.S.  If you’re outside of the US and you’d like a bundle, shoot me an e-mail, I’ll figure out postage and then send you an invoice.

Thimbleanna: Heather Ross

You can find the bundles Here.
SOLD OUT. Thank You!

I’ll be back soon with pictures from market!

XOXO,
Anna

Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend, especially if you’re in the US or Australia or other places where it’s Mother’s Day weekend.  We’ve had the very best Mother’s Day Weekend, courtesy of this:

Thimbleanna: Graduation

TheFirstChild is now Dr.FirstChild and it’s been a fun and emotional weekend.  We all gathered for the looong graduation ceremony and then SweetiePie treated us to a wonderful lunch back at their apartment.  She did such a great job preparing all the food and cute Dr./Graduation decorations.

Thimbleanna: Graduation

She served Ham and Turkey Croissants, veggies and dip, ugly bean dip, a hot chicken dip, mini cinnamon rolls, oatmeal raisin cookies, and a decorated cake.

Thimbleanna: Graduation

She thought of everything — right down to a champagne toast to celebrate the new graduate.  It was all delicious and hit the spot.

Thimbleanna: Graduation

At the beginning of Med School, just after the white coat ceremony, I posted the picture below of SweetiePie and TheFirstChild.  It was the beginning of their journey and I love that picture because I’d inadvertently caught the construction sign in the photo.  It hardly seems possible that the construction phase is now over.  SweetiePie and TheFirstChild probably don’t share our disbelief — it was long and grueling and I’m sure they’re glad it’s over.  They’ve taught our little family a lot about hard work and perseverance and it’s been amazing (if not painful at times) to watch.  A few days ago, TheFirstChild posted on his facebook page and said “As of this very second, I AM DONE WITH MEDICAL SCHOOL! The first thing that comes to mind is that it was slightly more difficult than I first anticipated.”  He’s a funny guy.

Thimbleanna: Graduation

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how proud we are of our little chicks.  And, after last fall, how lucky we felt that all of our local family was together to celebrate the reward for all of their hard work. I sure do Love these boys.

Thimbleanna: Graduation

I am One. Lucky. Mom.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Anna
