Haha — that was some serious fun, reading all the comments on my last post. I really enjoyed seeing where you all stand wrt the holidays. There are a few of you over-achievers who are all done with your shopping (!), but I’m happy to say, I’m not the only one still sitting around waiting for the lightening bolt. I will say that I’ve at least…Oh Wait. I can’t say anything — there are big eyes lurking and I wouldn’t want to give anything away. Oh well, it wasn’t anything earth shattering anyway — just a little start.
In the meantime, I FINALLY finished up this pair of socks. Since I rarely travel for work anymore, I’ve lost my prime sock-knitting time so it’s harder for me to accomplish much in the knitting department.
I love the blue and green colors. But, oh dear. My friend the camera has rudely pointed out a little bitty (well, not so bitty) mistake in these socks. Do you see it? That left heel down there — right across the middle. It appears I’ve missed a row of pattern. Ooops! I didn’t even see it until I was downloading the pictures.
Oh well, it’s WAY too late to fix that little problem now. That’s ok — they’re super comfy, just in time for winter. I have no idea what the yarn is (sorry — I bought them from a pile at Cami‘s and they didn’t have a ball band). I just used my standard sock knitting method and knit a plain ol’ stockinette stitch for the bulk of the sock. Easy Peasy!
In other news, remember when I told you about Penny‘s big drive to get everyone to sign a petition to bring back Flea Market Fancy? She’s having a big ol’ jumbo giveaway over at the Flea Market Fancy Blog — you should definitely RUN over there and check it out!
Bring on the weekend! TheManoftheHouse and I have a BIG closet cleanout scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully boxes won’t fall on us and kill us….wish us luck!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO,
Anna
you have huge feet.
Love the color of those socks! Be careful with your closet clean out and remember that as soon as you get rid of old stuff in the closet, you will see some great new project that requires you to go to the Goodwill and pay good money for what you just threw out!
But they’d still fit well into B’s mouth! Gorgeous socks! Mistake and all—even squinting I can’t see it, so I’ll just take your word for it!
oh molly, i didn’t mean it, i just couldn’t resist!!!!
Cute socks! I don’t see a boo-boo! :-)
Love the socks Anna. I am always so impressed with knitters. I have completed one dish cloth. LOL…but I taught myself how to do that with a booklet. Maybe I will give it another try this winter.
I love those socks, and who will see the missed row of pattern apart from you. It is just a designer enhancement, lol! Now if we dont hear from you in a few days does it mean the boxes from your cleanout knocked you unconscious!
Your socks look great! I like the blue and green together. I’m always impressed by knitters who can make socks because I’ve heard they are difficult and I haven’t worked up the courage to give it a try.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Now those are some good lookin’ socks.
Amazing socks – love the blue green yarn – they look so comfy and warm. Good luck with the closet clean out and Christmas preparations!
Those are the cutest knit socks I’ve ever seen! I wouldn’t worry at all about that little tiny mistake. You have a great talent.
Have fun with your big clean out project tomorrow!
Very cute socks. I’m glad I can knit socks; they make such a fun little project, don’t they?
I tried knitting socks once, with that Opel Magic wool, you know it looks like argyle?? dunno what happened with mine, it looked like the argyle was ‘trippin on acid man’.. I can say it was a confirmed disaster.. shame I was so ambitious and bought three balls of that wool to make myself 6 pairs of socks! and how often do I wear socks? um maybe three or four times a year! LOL
I had to look twice even when you pointed out the mistake on your sock. They’re so cheerful; the colors are great.
Lovely socks.. I wish I could make pretty socks like that to keep my frozen feet happy!!! Never mind the mistake… they are perfect..:o)
Great socks!!!!!!!! Be careful in that closet!!!
I love the color of the socks. Have fun with the closet. I hope you find some forgotten treasures.
I LOVE your socks sooooo much! Housework/spring cleaning is the order of the day around here tomorrow too! yuck – I would much rather be knitting or sewing! toni :o) xxx
The socks are great! And unless you wear really short pants and open back shoes, no one will ever know there is a mistake. They are beautiful none the less.
Great socks, I love them! Now that the World Series is over, I’ve lost my prime sock knitting time as well.
I’ve got a good bit of the Christmas shopping done…I have to have it done by 12/16 for my family, so wanted to get it out of the way. Of course, I usually get finished early!
Love the colours, can’t see the flaw, they look gorgeous :)
Fabulous socks. Love the colours and would never have spotted the deliberate mistake!
I love, love, love, them!!!!!
Those socks are darling! I love the colors.
Love the color in the socks!!!
Forget the Wilson pose, I can recognize you from your socks. Those do look comfy and warm. Not much sock wearing out here though…so sad.
I know you didn’t Brigita! I also couldn’t resist a comment my smart arse comment—but it was only in fun!
Those socks look so great. I love the colours and they look so soft and comfy. What a great job!
Well, hang your head in shame, Thimbleanna. A mistake. Tut tut.
Where in the world were you sitting? You seem to be on the end of a pier built over a tiny man-made pond with a sort of rockery in the background. Or maybe the distant mountains of the Mid-West?
The socks are so pretty Anna, I love the colors, they go really nice with comfy jeans! I know about that closet clean out, a big pain, but so nice and so much more room when you’re finished, be careful in there!!!
I love the sock, the colors are so pretty and I don’t see the mistake. Quit tellin………………
Socks. I had 1 eye closed. lol
I love the color combination. Actually I love it so much I want to make some like that for my self too. And via your links I just found the Mockery pattern which I had never seen. It is now on my sock to do list.
I love your socks!!! The colors and pattern are YUMMY!! Such talent!

Dear Anna,
I love the green and blue socks, but you know what they say in Germany about wearing blue and green?
“Gruen und blau, schmueckt Kaspers Frau.”
That means: “Green and blue robes Kaspers wife.”
Kasper is the wodden hand- puppet which is very popular in Germany.
There are a lot of Kasperle- Theaters. He and his wife are a bit like clowns.
So the saying is not a compliment (hehe).
Never mind, it´s just a joke.
Have a great weekend
Janine
Love those socks Anna – especially the completely invisible (well I can’t see it anywhere) mistake in them!
Lucy xxx
Hi Anna, I love the socks. You make the coolest I’ve seen. Mistake and all and who cares anyway. That makes them even more special. I love the quilt a couple of posts ago. It is beautiful!! I wish I had half your talent. Ready for the holidays. Geez!! Thanksgiving really snuck up on me. I’ve been so busy at work and my part time job has turned into full time so I’m exhausted when I get home. Have a great Thanksgiving…enjoy your day and eat lots!
LOVE the socks Anna. Very cute.
Beautiful socks, great detail. Clarice
Ooo they are lovely! One of these days I will make socks! I know I ask you this all the time but any trips to NYC planned? I’ll have a lot of time on my hands in the next few months. :)
Those socks are a gorgeous colour, I’ve just been reading your sock post and I’m thinking I might just have a go this winter!
PS I just ordered the Ann Norling pattern from a US site. You may see socks on my blog yet!
I don’t see any mistakes on those gorgeous socks. I just see warm, cozy, beautiful socks.
Jody
I love those socks! When I get some downtime, I going to have to learn how to knit socks…
Jennifer :)
I love the socks and the small error just allows people to realise that they are hand knitted and not some mass produced item….in fact I would go so far as to say that it is the ideal thing to do for a pair of socks to keep with the handmade feeling…
Writing this to you from the airport in Paris awaiting a flight home after a weekend in the City of Lights = I love this place!
Love the colors and textures it makes. My daughter loves to knit but rarely knits socks. Right now she’s too busy knitting for baby Allison. Such cute stuff.
Beautiful, Anna! But, how do you wear socks that you’ve spent so much time knitting? I would be afraid of wearing them out–getting a hole in the heel or toe…that sort of thing. XO
Those are GREAT socks. Love them! The colors remind me of the ocean.
Anna the socks are fabulous! I would never have noticed the flaw. :) I still want to learn to knit. I just don’t have the time with quilts/bags and other misc things…
hey. taking a break from baking the 300 molasses spice cookies that want baking. i think your sock yarns are yarnlove, the mr.wonderful colorway… i *think*. they look fabulous anyway. those darn ballbands never wanna stay put. hope your thanksgiving is fabulous. i’m off to snarf choc. croissants and a slice of pecan pie now… (nom, nom)
i love your socks!!! the color is so fun!
