Well kids. Another week whizzed by. I’m glad it’s over too — my travel is done for awhile so I can look forward to a little sewing and maybe clean up this pigsty a little.
So, finally, my last market report (I hear all of you screaming yipee out there!) — the fabric you’ll be seeing in quilt shops a few months from now. Before the fabric, here’s a quick pic for Meredithe and all the Billings girls out there. Just to prove their gorgeous quilt was at market.
My last two posts have shown a lot of the fabric that I really liked (like Sarah Jane, PKM, and those Riley Blake Chevrons) that I didn’t see at sample spree. I didn’t manage to snag Vanessa‘s new color line either, but here’s a pretty close up of her new fabrics.
And look! I was snooping around the United Notions booth and she has an Aurifil line of thread to match.
I thought this new Dr. Suess fabric in baby colors was cute.
Here are my sample spree snags. At the Lecein booth I grabbed this line called Quilter’s First Collection. I don’t like all the fabrics, but I love the collection of basics in the group to the right. (No one does basics like Lecein.)
From Moda, the plan was to get Marmalade by Bonnie and Camille and Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater and I managed to get them both without being trampled by the crowd.
When you buy something from Moda, they give you a bag. I LOVE this year’s bag.
It even inspired me to get the line of fabric that contains the bag print. It’s called Odds and Ends by Cosmo Cricket. I wouldn’t have noticed it without the bag (and the table cloths on the tables) but I’m sure glad I did — there are some very cute prints in this collection.
And that’s it! Too much fabric, as usual, and I have no clue what I’ll do with it. It’s sure fun to fondle though!
Have a great weekend. Mine is going to contain some sewing, how ’bout yours?
XOXO,
Anna
You snagged some good stuff. I love the bag, too, and I totally missed that fabric. Shoot! I sure love that first quilt.
Glad you made it home safe and sound. My week whizzed by, too!
Gorgeous fabrics, you did well. I can imagine how tempting it must be to have all these lovely new fabrics to choose from.
How fun to see all that loot. I’m sure you’re glad to be home, but it’s always hard to get back on track for me after being away. Hope your weekend is great!
Oh yum! I wish I could have tasted the fabric with you! I like the rosy fabrics with the basic gingham.
It looks like you got some lovely fabric! I wonder what you’ll do with it? Make a quilt perhaps ;-)
Hope that you have a lovely weekend. I am off to Pittenweem for a wander (but it looks like rain!) and perhaps to find some strawberries!
Not long till your next trip now!!
It all looks very pretty and lovely colours, love the bag too. We haven’t done much this week as I’m a bit of an invalid at the mo :-(.
I love the fabric you picked up and I’m so excited about Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater. I can hardly wait to buy it. Thanks for sharing!
that bag is adorable. A girl can never have too many, right?
Love the fresh and pretty fabrics!
Market looks like so much fun and Moda sure seems to do it right.
You got great stuff…love Marmalade and Mama Said Sew is awesome! Cute bag! Have a wonderful weekend!
I WANT the Cosmo Cricket!!!! Cruel temptress to poor Irish girl xx
Thanks Anna, I don’t get tired of quilt market posts! What lovely fabric, I just love the Simply color line. Sorry you weren’t able to grab some. But you got some lovelies, have fun with them!
Time to sew? What’s that?!?!
oh anna, you brought home some great fabrics! i cant wait to see what you do with them….eventually!
will it ever rain?
Very nice fabrics. Lately I’ve been collecting vintage sheets and cutting them up to make something – not sure what – but something. This week I have to concentrate on teacher gifts – need them all by Friday – yikes!
Those are some gorgeous lines…I’m sure you will come up with something fabulous to make with them…or you could roll around in them :o)
Well Anna – you know that if you decide that you have too much fabric, I will swap you a sheepie for it (although a sheepie might be hard to post!!)
You did well…scoring some of my favorites!
Thanks for all of the great booth pictures! I love to see all of the new stuff.
Oooh, you did have some lucky finds!
Thanks Anna! Mrs billings looks great hanging at Karen’s booth. Just love the look at the fabrics and have fallen head over heals for marmalade and mama said sew – did you hear the groan from over there?! There’ll be some serious damage done when those fabrics come out!! Meredithe x
No groaning here, Anna – I love your Market reports! Beautiful fabrics, too. Can’t wait to see what springs from your creative mind and hands. And until then, there is always the fabric petting to make the purchases worthwhile. Mr. Muddling now asks me if I’ve petted my fabric today. LOL
i love your market posts – it’s almost like being there!
okay … not really … but it’s wrong for me to covet Thimbleanna’s life … just sayin’
Ooh, I love that market bag! That’s great you got some of that fabric. Love the Dr. Seuss fabric, too. Did you get some sewing done? It is super hot here and I haven’t felt much like knitting … been doing a lot of laying around and reading by the air conditioner.
You made me dribble on my keyboard. I want to stroke all that glorious fabric you bought. Can’t wait to see what you make with it. x
Awesome snags, Anna!! Glad you were able to get in there and snap up some goodies. :) Still working on the “project”. Oy, it’s going to take forever.
Who says we don’t love your market posts?? I love them. I want the lines you like, too. I love them. Great post.
My life consists of marking papers and rushing to the bathroom. Not quite ideal at the moment. But your lovely fabric pictures cheered me up.
Drooling…its Marmalade I have been coveting and now you’ve shown me even more to keep that stash out growing the house!
Ooohh I love the Odds and Ends. I’m going to have to start quilting again ;)
I live the quilt market through your posts, don’t ya know! I just read them all as one report and throughly enjoyed the trip.
Oh yes, I could fondle fabric :) I’ve been sewing lately and I plan to continue into the weekend. I need to finish what I’m making, because I then have to make another one, can’t give one grandchild something and not the other from the same family ;)
whooooo haaaaa! Such lovely fabrics! Wish Fibre was was bigger, I’d have that style in the shoppe. Such a happy style too! Oh well, perhaps soon there will be an expansion! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
I want to see you make a beautiful quilt out of the Marmalade fabrics. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos from the fabric market:)
