Ok. Show of hands. How many of you have had these Biscoff cookies and love them? I first had them years ago on a Delta flight (do they still serve them in this day and age of skimpy airplane service?) Then one year, someone gave MyDadLovesMeBestSister a huuuge basket of them for Christmas. And now, luckily, they’re starting to show up in our local grocery stores. (If you’re in the states, there’s a retail store finder that will help you find out if they’re in a store near you.)
But I’m not here to show you Biscoff cookies. Courtesy of my awesome invisible friend Linda Noblog, I’ve discovered Biscoff spread. Aka Biscoff Peanut Butter. But without the peanuts. Or nasty hazelnuts. (Oh, Nutella … I love me some chocolate, but did you have to put those bitter hazelnuts in there???) Have you tried Biscoff spread? It tastes all brown sugar-y and cinnamon-y just like Biscoff cookies!
When Linda e-mailed me about it, I was in such a hurry to try it that I ordered it off of the Biscoff website. (It occurred to me later that it’s probably in my local store right next to the Biscoff cookies.) I’ve tried it on apples, bananas, and bagels — all of which were wonderful. And even better there are lots of recipes on the internet for using this spread. Like the Devil’s Food Cake with Whipped Biscoff Ganache that started this whole conversation with Linda Noblog (she’s an amazing baker!) Or how ’bout ? Or a Biscoff Banana Milkshake? (Ooooh, I even found a recipe to make Biscoff cookies from scratch, although, it’s hard to imagine that they’d be as good as the real thing.)
If food doesn’t grab you, how ’bout a new toy? Have you seen these new dry erase markers from Crayola? Be still my little worker bee heart. Now I can have some color at my desk at work. They come in regular and bright. Of course, I chose the bright version, ’cause, well … they’re just brighter.
They come with a cute little felt pouch, so I put a clip on it and I hang it near my white board. I was going to add a new flower on my board each day, but most days I forget. I draw baby stuff on my little twin-expecting friend‘s board when she’s not looking too. It’s a nice diversion when I need a minute to get up and stretch. Anyway, they’re really cool and they look like crayons, but erase just like dry erase markers. I think they’d be great for kids too.
And my last little Friday Finds are for you Ghastlie lovers out there. Go check out this gorgeous sewing machine cover, this amazing quilt with a fun creepy twist (Help Me! Help Me! LOL), and this very cool quilt (perfect to showcase the large print). It’s so fun to see all the Ghastlie inspiration out there!
Ok, I’m off to run errands. Have a great weekend!
XOXO,
Anna
You find the best stuff!
I have never heard of these biscuits before. I will have to check them out. I am going to pretend I did not read what you said about hazelnuts because I still want to be your friend ;-)
xoox Clarice
I’m hoping that food stuff isn’t available in the US. I’m trying not to eat so many biscuits and sweet stuff. Argh! It’s also why I’ve avoided restocking the Nutella here in the house, too tempting to eat it (all)!
They sound a bit like a cookie they have in Holland, by Lu, called Bastogne. Delicious, and one of many things I miss from back home.
Oh, my, what a wonderful lot of public service announcements you’ve made that! I’m going looking for those crayons. Mr. Muddling and I write mush notes to each other on our white board. Silly? Maybe, but we still do it!
Wow – the crayons are awesome, much better than the lime green wipe off marker I stole from my partner at work….it is too squinty. Also – that spread looks awesome. NO stores in Canada listed at all so I may try ordering it, or wait until I next cross border shop (which is as much about food as anything else!). They sell the Anna cookies here through Ikea, but I have never seen the spread….. :(
Thank you so much for showing us more ways to use the Ghastlies fabric. Back when you did your, I was smitten. I just bought some of the fabric and now I don’t know what to do with it, but these project are making me think outside the box, so maybe now I’ll come up with something before the best holiday ever, Halloween!
Thank you
We get Lotus biscuits here – looks like the same ones. You sometimes get them in little packets of two in posh coffee shops. I followed the link to the sewing machine cover …….. but could I bear to cut the fabric, or will I stick to the lap quilt idea??!!
What??? How can you bash Nutella? It’s the food of the gods! Haha.
Love the Ghastlies showcase. Thanks for the inspiration.
The pouch with the dry erase crayons may be an eraser mitt instead. My son-in-law corrected me when I bothe them for the granddaughters.
Mm-m, I’m gonna have to try me some cookies and spread… and coloring is something we teachers enjoy doing, so thanks for the heads up on the new products ~
:-}pokey
ok you had me at brown sugar!!!!!!! I need to find these!!!!!!!!!!!
They do still have Biscoff on Delta flights, I’ve avoided buying any for the house as I will eat them ALL!
Cool finds Anna! Crayola also has cool markers for windows…if you have a office window
Oh. LOVE those cookies! I am on the hunt now! And I think you just gave me an idea for a stocking stuffer for Punk with the crayons… :)
My favorite was the tea cozy with ruffle and bow! Very fun.
Never heard of the cookies. I already have such a weakness for sweets…guess it’s for the best! ;0
Have an awesome weekend Miss Thimble Anna. ;0
I’ve never seen the ghastlies in quilt stores down here….They sure are cute!
okay i’ve never had biscoff… but i’m guessing if i read the ingredients, it wouldn’t go in my mouth. but you’ve gone and gotten quite inventive with the stuff. i’m a bit disturbed about your lack o’ nutella love, but i guess you can’t be perfect!
(figs, pesto, nutella, the princess bride – the list is getting longer anna… but at least we still share fabric hoarding tendancies, our love of kim diehl, polka dots and perfect chocolate cake)
well…it’s been a long day and will prove to be a longer weekend!! i hope you do tons o’ fun things to share with all of your adoring fans.. cuz, well, we just adore you.
:waves madly
your #1 adoring fan, who no longer has to make nutella truffle for your birthday.

Not sure about this stuff, but i saw your comment on Nutella have you tried Ovalmatine crunch, chocolate spread with no pretence (of being healthy) and crunchy malt bits, it is divine!! I have only just found your blog, so no idea where you live. We are in Switzerland which is ofcourse full of all things chocolate…….
About fifteen years ago a friend and I went to Huntsville Alabama to Martha’s school together. We had these on the plane and I told her they were my favorite. She contacted the company when we got home and ordered them wholesale. She had to order a gross. That’s A LOT of cookies. I got a whole basket of them for Christmas, and was begging for her to sell me more later. I haven’t noticed them in my local grocery but I am going to check. I’ve been seeing them all over blogland.
These cookies have become quite the underground phenomenom! My daughter was eating some last night and said, “Have you tried these!!” My sister loves them. She first had them on an airplane trip. I told her about the spread and she is one happy camper. She’s going to one of the chain grocery stores that their web site says carries them. The web site is wonderful!!!
Yum! Gotta try the cookies and the spread.
Sneaking stuff on your friend’s dry erase board just sounds like a fun thing to do. :-)
I’ve had those cookies on Delta too. I would love to have them at my house to eat with my 3:00 coffee. And now spread? What will they think of next?
Cool dry-erase crayons. What will they think of next?
Cool Ghastlies stuff!
Jody
I’ve not had the cookie. Are you showing me something else to be addicted too?? STOP IT and STOP IT NOW!!!
Love your new markers. I bought chalk ones but they don’t draw well. Maybe it’s my chalk boards??? It’s the artist not the tools. lol
Oh dear girl you must stop with the enabling!! First biscuits… then a spread I will try to resist.. then yarn goodness… which i USUALLY resist as I’m a horrible plain jane crocheter so refuse to buy sock yarn.. refuse I tell you… as I CLICK.. THE .. LINK…
Ok, I’ve added 2 things to my grocery list and I NEED a cozy for my teacup. I was hoping that she would have an etsy site. You were mentioning that you had excess of a few fabrics this weekend, if you have extra Ghastlie Knitters? I want some. Not much. Of course The Back Door doesn’t carry it. If you don’t have any to part with I’ll order it online. I was actually hoping to see pictures of our little visit on Saturday but I know you’re a busy woman and you will put them up when time allows. It was very good to see you and darling DIL – even if it was a very brief visit. But for being on the fly we did manage to pull it off. If I’d been thinking, I’d have brought Brian’s Crazy Quilted Memories book along to show you. hugs and air kisses, robin
I have never had either the Biscoff biscuits or the spread, but it looks like just my kind of thing. One of my favorite snacks is peanut butter on bananas, so I am going to have to see if my local stores carry this so I can give it a try. It looks so good! :)
I made the biccies.
They were YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
I made them gluten free so my 6 year old could eat them too and he nearly died with delight!
